These past two days have proven that without Allah, nothing will go right. No matter how prepared you are, if you don’t turn to Allah for support, you will not be at your best. Similarly, if you feel that you aren’t prepared but have worked hard to get as much done as possible and you ask Allah for his help and support, you will be at your best.
It is all in His hands.
Thank you so much, Allah. For everything. Without you, today would’ve been a disaster. I make duaa that you help us tomorrow, and guide us all down the right path. Ya, Allah. There are so many things I need to ask you - I don’t even know where to begin from.

Islamic Thinking: The Triple Filter Test

islamicthinking:

During the golden Abbasid period, one of the scholars in Baghdad, which was the capital of Muslim caliphate at that time, was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day an acquaintance met the great scholar and said: “Do you know what I just heard about your friend?”

Day 33
Name: Al-Halim
Allah is Al-Halim,
This name can be attributed to a person and is an attribute that is beloved to Allah. To be Al-Halim is to be a person who does not react immediately.
Our Prophet Abraham was Halim, very polite, kind and patient with people. When his father and his people are forcing him out of his homeland, he told them that he will pray for them. And look at Prophet Muhammad (sws), when Prophet Muhammad (sws) went to the people of At-Taif, this was one of the worst days of our Prophet’s life. He went with the best of hopes and when he arrived with the message of Islam, these people were worse than the people of Quraish.  The leaders rejected him and the people rejected him. When the Prophet (sws) passed through the streets, the people threw dirt and stones at him and spit on him. He was completely covered in blood, our Prophet (sws), the best man to ever live. But did he curse the people, was he quick to get angry and react, NO. Our Prophet Muhammad (sws) was Halim and asked Allah to forgive them. He could have destroyed these people, he could have ruined these people, but our Prophet (sws) was Al-Halim.
In terms of Allah, if Allah were to react to every single injustice, oppression, and sin committed, there will be no human being on this earth.  Allah is Al- Halim.
There are so many bad people on this earth, look at Syria, look at Palestine, look at Sudan, Egypt, Chechnya,  Somalia, in every continent there are people who are oppressing people and doing greatest injustices. And people might ask, where is Allah? Why isn’t anything being done? We have to remember that Allah is Al-Latif and Allah is Al-Halim, Allah does not react, Allah has his orders and rules, and people disobey and reject Allah. We feel that Allah should just punish there people but this is the mercy and the “hilm” of Allah. Even the worse of people, Allah gives us chance after chance, because you never know if someone will repent to Allah, you never know, but Allah knows.
And if Allah is going to punish these people so easily, why not punish you? We have all disobeyed Allah in some way but Allah does not close the doors on people, we close the doors on Allah.

The Last Sermon of the Prophet Muhammad

coretanhatidanjiwa:

“O People, listen well to my words, for I do not know whether, after this year, I shall ever be among you again. Therefore, listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Treat others justly so that no one would be unjust to you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. God has forbidden you to take usury (riba), therefore all riba obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer inequity. God has judged that there shall be no riba and that all the riba due to `Abbas ibn `Abd al Muttalib shall henceforth be waived.

Every right arising out of homicide and blood-killing in pre-Islamic days is henceforth waived and the first such right that I waive is that arising from the murder of Rabi`ah ibn al Harith ibn `Abd al Muttalib.

O people, the Unbelievers indulge in tampering with the calendar in order to make permissible that which God forbade, and to forbid that which God has made permissible. With God the months are 12 in number. Four of them are sacred, three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumada and Sha`ban. Beware of the devil, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights over your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under God’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Treat your women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. It is your right and they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste…

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship God (The One Creator of the Universe), perform your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your financial obligation (zakah) of your wealth. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before God (The Creator) and you will answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or messenger will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words, which I convey to you. I am leaving you with the Book of God (the Quran) and my Sunnah (the life style and the behavioral mode of the Prophet). If you follow them you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness O God, that I have conveyed your message to your people.”

okay I love this.

There are no coincidences in Islam. Every single person you cross paths with was strictly for a reason. Big or small, there was an impact. Allah ordained for it to occur. So do not belittle the ones who walk in or out of your life, for all you know, Allah could be waiting to make them a lesson for you. And all things He does is solely for your benefit.
